The Bolt Down Kit is optional - you can use your own bolts to install the chock in a trailer. The kit just makes it easier to remove and install the chock from the top side - much easier than getting underneath the trailer to hold the nuts and having someone else remove the bolts from the top.

Step1: Place the chock at the location proper location then carefully mark the location of the mounting holes.A Sport Chock is shown in this example but the same installation applies to the LA Chock. |
![]() |
Step 2: set each mounting plate so that the center (threaded) hole is located exactly over the pencil marks you made in step 1.Now carefully mark the location of the two countersunk holes in each plate. It is also good to trace around the outside of the plates to help with alignment later. |

This is what you should have at this point - (two of these actually). |
![]() |
Now use a small drill bit to pilot drill the three hole locations under each mounting plate. |
![]() |
Now drill out the three holes using a 3/8" drill bit. |
![]() |
Now attach each plate using the 5/16" x 18tpi countersunk screws and locknuts and washers underneath. |
![]() |
Spread the large washers apart from the center hole so they will not interfere with the chock mounting bolt. |
![]() |
The bolt down kit is now ready for mounting the chock. |
![]() |
Now you will be able to quickly set your chock over the mounting plates and attach it using the 3/8"x 16tpi allen head bolts supplied with the kit. |
If you own a Toy Hauler of some other trailer that has no access to the underneath of the floor, use these insterts to install the plates of the bolt down kit.
Note: Make sure your plywood floor in in good condition and that you have a very secure substrate for these insterts.

Begin the installation process as you would a normal bolt-down kit installation marking the chock location and boltdown plate locations on your trailer floor. Go ahead and pilot drill the three holes at each plate location with a 1/8" drill bit. Now drill the outside two holes with a 7/16" drill bit and the center hole 3/8". |
![]() |
Now apply some construction adhesive to the threads on the inserts and using the allen wrench supplied with the bolt down kit, slowly screw the inserts into the 7/16" holes |
![]() |
The top of the inserts should be flush with the top of your trailer floor. Now you can set each plate over the holes/inserts and attach them to the floor from the top side. If you have structure directly underneath the floor at these locations, you might want to use shorter 5/16" countersunk screws to mount the plates to prevent interference. |

Now install the Bolt Down Plates using the supplied screws. You're ready! |
